Former Acting Solicitor General Ian Gershengorn returns for another lively and informative discussion of the Supreme Court. He will discuss recent developments at the Court, including debates about the Court’s use of its emergency docket. He will also discuss high profile cases regarding immigration, executive power, and termination of federal research grants.
Ian Gershengorn is a partner at the law firm of Jenner & Block. He is one of the nation’s premier Supreme Court and appellate advocates, having argued before the U.S. Supreme Court 17 times. Ian attended Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the
Harvard Law Review. After law school, he served as a law clerk for two years, including one year for Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.
