7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
This event, originally scheduled for November 2 will now take place on November 9. We hope you will join us!
As part of B’nai Israel’s Centennial Celebration, acclaimed photojournalist David Burnett shares his award-winning work and tells the stories behind some of the most important photos of our lifetime. Burnett has photographed every President since John F. Kennedy, world leaders including Israeli Prime Ministers Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Rabin, astronauts, Olympians, and Hollywood stars. He helped introduce musician Bob Marley to the American public.
David Burnett has been an internationally acclaimed photojournalist for over six decades. He began his career photographing for his high school yearbook and went on to work with LIFE, Time, National Geographic, and other major publications. In 1976, he co-founded Contact Press Images, an independent photojournalism agency. He has received top honors including World Press Photo of the Year, Magazine Photographer of the Year, and the Robert Capa Gold Medal. He has photographed every U.S. president since JFK and has covered every Summer Olympics since 1984. He is a Sony “Artisan of Imagery.”
