Sukkat Shalom: A Shelter of Peace with Eliana Light, Artist-in-Residence

Monday, October 5, 2020 17 Tishrei 5781

7:30 PM - 8:30 PMZoom

In the evening service, we ask the Holy One to spread a “sukkah of your peace” over us. What can we learn from this image? Exploring some midrash on the sukkah itself, consider how this prayer, and the evening service in general, can have resonance in our lives today.

Raised in Memphis, TN on soul music and synagogue life, Eliana’s passion for Jewish life and learning shines through all her work. Eliana’s goal is to help individuals take ownership of their Judaism. She has released two albums of original Jewish music. In 2017, Eliana founded the G!D Project, an educational initiative focused on accessible, meaningful conversations about G!D and spirituality. Eliana graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary with a Masters in Experiential Jewish Education in 2016 and is based in Durham, NC.
