Teen Shabbat Dinner with JTS Rabbinical Student Claire Bruder
Friday, January 30, 2026 • 12 Shevat 5786
7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
In today’s fractious environment, when many of us feel fearful and powerless, learn how we can make a difference through organizing and participatory democracy, guided by our Jewish values.
7:00 PM Teen Shabbat Dinner with JTS Rabbinical Student Claire Bruder
Claire Davidson Bruder (she/her) began her journey to the rabbinate in the fourth grade, when she pestered her Judaics teacher about Dina’s whereabouts in the Torah so incessantly that he made up a song for her about it. Now a third-year rabbinical student, Claire approaches much of her Jewish learning the same way, always looking to empower those traditionally marginalized by our tradition.
Claire comes to JTS with particular passions for education and social justice. She is currently the program manager of JTS’s Milstein Center for Interreligious Dialogue, as well as the Resident Director for List College. In her free time, Claire volunteers with the chaplains at Rikers Island Jail, and works toward reproductive justice in New York and nationally.![]()
