Rabbi Kogan is an immigrant from Argentina and he will share his experiences working both with the immigrant community in the southwest border of Mexico and his work with law enforcement agencies to contribute tikkun olam (improving the world).
Rabbi Kogan will also stimulate the audience to be more sensitive to the immigration humanitarian crisis. His hope is that his lessons from Jewish history may inspire the present American reality.
RABBI DR. CLAUDIO J. KOGAN is the director of the Institute of Bioethics and Social Justice. He is a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he attended the University of Buenos Aires Medical School and he received his M.D. He received his Masters of Hebrew Letters and rabbinical ordination at the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. He also received his Master of Medical Ethics from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. Dr. Kogan is an activist who has traveled around the world promoting interfaith dialogue.
