Growing up, Heather was active in the Jewish community: she attended B’nai Israel’s Talmud Torah, participated in BBYO and in her university’s Hillel. She lost that connection after five months living in, of all places, the holy city of Jerusalem. What helped her return to Judaism? Spending time in the mystical city of Tzfat. Heather will share what distanced her, and how her time spent in Tzfat helped her to see Judaism in a new light.

Heather graduated from the University of Delaware in 2017 with degrees in Public Policy and Women & Gender Studies. Since graduation, she has taken time to travel, work, and volunteer abroad in Israel, Spain, and Greece. She is currently an Associate Teacher at the Bender JCC Preschool and is hoping to travel abroad again this fall.
