We all know the basics about keeping Kosher, but today our understanding of Kashrut includes a broader concept of eating ethically. Allison Friedman, Communications Director for GatherDC, and author of numerous articles including Eating Animals Is Hard to Stomach and Vegetables Can Be Fancy, Too, will address concerns about sustainable agriculture, food workers’ rights, raising animals in ways that don’t threaten the planet, and being aware of our own health when choosing what to put into our bodies. Hope you’ll be there for our evening of “food for thought!”

To help us with our planning, please RSVP by Tuesday, October 30 to Deedee Jacobsohn (301-230-1174).

Please consider supporting the Ritual Director’s Fund, which subsidizes Wine, Women and What’s Nu programs. Those who donate $72 or more by Friday, November 2, will be listed in the event program distributed that evening. If you are interested in donating, contact Allison in Cantor Wolpert’s office (240-221-2507).
