Hal Ossman
Hal Ossman, Executive Director
Prior to joining B’nai Israel Congregation as Executive Director in the summer of 2018, Hal Ossman served as the Chief Campus Officer of Hillel International, overseeing departments and initiatives that impact student engagement on campus and Hillel operational excellence.
Early in his career, Hal served as the Assistant Director of University of Arizona Hillel and the Associate Director of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Hillel as well as serving as the Young Leadership Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix. Later, Hal served as Executive Director of the University of Delaware Hillel and Cornell Hillel prior to becoming Chief Campus Officer. While at Cornell, Hal served as the Chair of the Hillel Directors Cabinet and on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of Hillel International.
Hal holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona in History and Judaic Studies and a master’s degree in Management and a master’s degree in Jewish Communal Service from Brandeis University. Hal lives in Rockville, MD with his wife Rachel and daughters Sage and Erin.
