Assistant Special Needs Inclusion Specialist
Lessans Talmud Torah, our K-6 Hebrew school committed to nurturing the unique potential of every child, is seeking a compassionate and experienced part-time Assistant Inclusion Specialist. This position plays a vital role in supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of students with diverse learning profiles, ensuring they are fully included in the life of the classroom and school community. The Assistant Inclusion Specialist works closely with our Inclusion Specialist, teachers, students, and principal to promote and support best practices in inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with classroom teachers and Inclusion Specialist to develop inclusive, differentiated instruction and classroom supports
  • Provide support for students with learning differences, including those with diagnosed disabilities, learning challenges, and/or social-emotional needs
  • Collaborate in the development of learning support plans and accommodations
  • Conduct informal assessments and gather relevant data to support students
  • Serve as a resource for faculty in applying inclusive practices
  • Contribute to a warm, respectful, and inclusive school culture that reflects the school’s mission and values

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of child development, learning differences, and effective intervention strategies.
  • Experience supporting young children with diverse needs.
  • Available to work Sunday mornings

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, Learning Disabilities, or a related field.
  • Experience in a classroom or learning support role, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Familiarity with Jewish and Hebrew texts,
  • Familiarity with literacy interventions
  • Familiarity with the principles of Responsive Classroom, social-emotional learning frameworks, or related approaches.
  • Available to work Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoon

Religious School Teachers

B’nai Israel Congregation, a warm and vibrant Conservative synagogue located in Rockville, MD, is looking for K-6 Hebrew and Judaic Studies teachers to join our education team. 

  • Place: B'nai Israel Congregation, 6301 Montrose Road, Rockville, MD
  • Times:  Sundays, 9:00 AM–12:15 PM and Tuesdays, 4:30 PM–6:30 PM
  • Pay: $30–$75 per hour

High Holiday Youth Programming Staff

B'nai Israel has extensive youth programming for the High Holidays. We hire additional staff to work with children ages 2-7th grade and lead age-appropriate programs on both days of Rosh Hashanah, Kol Nidre/Yom Kippur Eve, and Yom Kippur. You can learn more about our programming here. Staff hours begin 30 minutes prior to the start of programming. Applicants for any or all of the four dates are welcome.
