Schilit Nursery School Assistant Director
Nancy Goldberg has been on the staff of the B’nai Israel Schilit Nursery School (BISNS) since 1994, when she began as a classroom teacher. In 2005, she became the Assistant Director of BISNS. She is instrumental in ensuring that the Schilit Nursery School follows the high standards for licensing set by the Maryland State Department of Education. Nancy is the founder and Director of Camp Katan, BISNS’s summer program. Nancy is an active member of both national and local early childhood organizations, as well as a frequent contributor to publications and online forums about education. She has participated in Jewish Federation of Greater Washington program modules Israel: In Our Heart, Mind, Soul and Gan and the Halutzim Mentoring Program. Nancy is a native Washingtonian and holds a BS with honors in Home Economics Education from the University of Maryland. She continues to broaden her knowledge through annual courses in early childhood education and leadership. Prior to joining the staff of BISNS, she taught in Montgomery County public schools and was an Administration Manager for IBM. Nancy met her late husband, Mike, at a B’nai Israel singles’ service. Nancy is the proud mother of two daughters, Allie and Bonnie.
