The High Holidays are a moment for reflection. We look back in time and we look ahead to the future. The liturgy stays the same, but the way that we relate to it changes as we change. We will look at the verses of the Hebrew Bible which give structure to the Musaf service (Malchuyout, Zichronot, and Shofrot), and understand how we can derive meaning from the liturgy this year.

Known as “The Kosher Baker,” Paula Shoyer is a French-trained pastry chef and the author of four cookbooks, with one more on the way. Join us for a cooking demonstration via Zoom and maybe you’ll find a new dish for your holiday dinners. Come ready to ask questions and cook (if you would like to)!

These monthly sessions will explore Israel’s most daring operations. Each session will delve into the specifics of events such as the raid at Entebbe, the trial of Eichmann, and the work of Eli Cohen. The sessions will be supplemented with adaptations of these operations from movies and shows. Sessions continue on October 21, November 11, December 3, and January 28.

Join virtually for learning sessions and musical moments. This coast-to-coast Conservative Movement experience will enrich our High Holiday preparation. Rabbi Michael Safra will lead a session at 9:00 PM, “God Isn’t Perfect, So Why Should I Be?”

The haunting melodies of this special service, traditionally recited at midnight, prepare us spiritually for the intensity of the High Holiday season. Join us virtually for Havdalah and the Selihot service led by our clergy.
