ASSistant RABBI/chief education officer
Rabbi Cheryl Stone moved to Rockville a year and a half ago with her husband and daughter to take on this exciting position in the robust and thriving community that is B’nai Israel after receiving ordination from the Zieger School of Rabbinic Studies in May, 2022.
Rabbi Stone has also earned a Masters of Jewish Education from Hebrew College and a Certificate of Advanced Jewish Studies from the Pardes Institute in Jerusalem.
Prior to becoming a Jewish professional, Rabbi Stone earned a B.F.A. in Design and Technical Theatre from Florida State University and worked in costuming for several years in professional theatre. She founded a business that built community among women artists while producing semi-annual exhibitions. She worked as a professional artist and has used art in a variety of mediums to engage learners of all ages.
Rabbi Stone now brings all her skills together as she and her team build a dynamic and engaging education department here at B’nai Israel.
