Yom HaZikaron (Israel memorial day)
During this time of social distancing, B’nai Israel has created events and compiled resources for our community to mark these important days together.

Yom Hazikaron Begins the evening of April 13 and ends the evening of April 14
Yom HaZikaron, Israel Memorial Day, is when we remember the brave heroes who fought to establish and defend our state.
Zikaron Packets for Yom HaZikaron
In honor of Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day which begins Tuesday evening, April 13, our shlicha, Netta Asner-Minster, will distribute “Zikaron packets.” Each packet includes information about a soldier, lyrics to a song written by or about the individual, and a memorial candle. Tuesday, Apr 13th 1:00p to 2:00pOn the eve of Yom HaZikaron (Israel Memorial Day), we will commemorate IDF soldiers and victims of terror at the largest international virtual ceremony for the Jewish world.

Wednesday, Apr 14th 7:15p to 8:15pJoin our shlicha, Netta Asner-Minster, for a short ceremony bridging Yom Hazikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day with Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel’s Independence Day. During this ceremony Netta will be sharing how to use the Zikaron packets that were distributed, as well as demonstrate the difficult and unique transition from grief to celebration.
