Wedding
Planning Your Wedding
- Call the synagogue. Set a time to meet with the rabbi. The rabbis usually prefer to meet more than once if possible.
- Contact Rabbi Safra or Rabbi Berkowitz. Let the synagogue know that you have become engaged so we can properly recognize you in the Scroll.
- Begin the process of selecting a date. You will want to speak with Rabbi Safra or Rabbi Berkowitz to confirm their availability. Our Events Manager, Patricia Simitakos can confirm the availability of the synagogue.
- Contact Cantor Perlman or Cantor Bolts to confirm their availability. A cantor’s participation is required for weddings in the Dweck Sanctuary.
- Officiation by outside clergy must be authorized in advance. Contact our events manager Patricia Simitakos for more details. In all cases, it is appropriate for outside clergy to contact the Senior Rabbi or Cantor as a courtesy.
- Contact Patricia Simitakos, our Events Manager to review room rental options or to set up a tour of the building.
- Select a caterer from our list of approved Kosher caterers.
- Check out the B’nai Israel Sisterhood Judaica Shop to see Ketubot, order Kippot, or register for gifts.
