Virtual Enrichment

Fall 2020

Classes will begin Monday, October 5 and run for 10 weeks. 
Registration will open on Friday, September 18, and will end on Friday, September 25. 
The daily cost of each class is $15.00, with the total cost varying based on the number of classes per week.  There may be an additional materials charge for supplies as needed.  
There is an availability for multiple class registrations, as long as your child is within the age range. 


Handwriting Skills For Four Year Old’s (Part 1)
Teacher: Hava Shirazi Anderson
Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:45-10:15 AM
Fee: $435
$25 materials fee includes: workbook, white board and expo markers, short pencils and tweezers 
In this class your child will learn all about uppercase and lowercase letter formation and identification, Handwriting Without Tears’ mat man and improve their fine motor skills.  We will be working with many different materials including playdough, beads, crayons, Legos, paper and pencil.  Your children will improve their pencil grip while practicing how to write and identify letters in a fun and exciting way!
   
Children will work on letter identification and formation, practice fine motor skills and pencil grip. 
 
Families will be asked to provide simple art materials and manipulatives such as pony beads, pompoms, paper bowls, playdough, string and Legos.

Creating Art with Recycled Materials (Ages 3–4)
Teacher: Hava Shirazi Anderson
Mondays, 2:00–2:30 PM
Fee: $150
In this class your children will create art using recycled materials as well as crafting items based on stories that we read and songs that we sing. They will create habitats, self portraits, puppets, rainsticks, paintings and more!  By applying imagination and design principles, we will create pieces of artwork and understand how trash can be reused to make a better world.  We will also learn about famous artists such as Picasso and Matisse.  
 
Families will be asked to supply recycled materials such as boxes, toilet paper/ paper towel rolls, tissue boxes, water bottles, and art supplies such as markers, glue, scissors, beads, paint, wood pieces, feathers, pipe cleaners, foam pieces, etc.  A more defined list will be provided once you register.

Celebrating Jewish Holidays and Traditions (Ages 3–4)
Teachers: Suzanne Schonfeld and Fern Bensignor
Tuesdays, 11:00–11:30 AM
Fee: $150
$15 materials fee includes: white kippot, kiddush cups, white handkerchief
Continue your child’s life long Jewish learning experiences in a fun and meaningful way! Learn about, observe and explore Jewish holidays and their rituals through stories, songs, art and cooking projects. 
 
Families will be asked to provide art and cooking materials.

Torah Time (Ages 3–4)
Teachers: Suzanne Schonfeld and Fern Bensignor
Thursdays, 11:00–11:30 AM
Fee: $150
Learn the weekly parasha (story) from the Torah through story telling, songs, art and cooking projects.  Family discussion pages and engaging questions will be shared with families weekly.
 
The children will create their own Torah throughout the session.  They will create a mural on long paper or 8 ½” x 11” paper taped together between two paper towel rolls.  Each week we will send home family discussion questions.
 
Families will be asked to provide art and cooking materials.

Building Creatively (Ages 3–4)
Teacher: Hava Shirazi Anderson
Fridays, 2:00–2:30 PM 
Fee: $135
In this class your children will build structures with different materials based on songs and stories that we read and sing in class.  We will create different building challenges daily that the children will complete using math and science skills as well as creativity! 

Families will be asked to provide materials, such as Legos, loose parts, Magnatiles, wood pieces, and blocks.

Story Time (Ages 2–3)
Teachers: Jill Needleman and Jaye Greenfest
Mondays & Wednesdays, 10:00–10:30 AM
Fee: $300
Listen to engaging stories and join in with related music, movement activities and art.  Be it animals, transportation, sounds or nature, children will grow and develop new skills through these opportunities to explore the different aspects of their world.  Language and literacy will be a part of the development as the children share their ideas with their teachers and peers, socializing in this new age of technology.

Families will need to supply materials such as paper, paint, paint brushes, scissors, glue sticks, markers, crayons.  A more defined list will be provided once you register.

Silly Shabbat (Ages 2–3)
Teachers: Jaye Greenfest and Jill Needleman
Fridays, 10:00–10:30 AM
Fee: $135
$15 materials fee includes: white kippot, plastic cups, white handkerchief, wooden boxes, candles
Join in each Friday as we celebrate Shabbat in all different silly ways.  Listen to Shabbat stories, sing songs, engage in the weekly blessings and create Shabbat art. You won’t want to miss out on this fun and opportunity to develop many age appropriate motor and social skills.

We will make shabbat crafts as well such as challah covers, kippot, kiddush cups, tzedakah boxes and even challah!

Families will be asked to provide art and cooking materials.
