Tu B’Shevat – New Year for Trees
This holiday is always noted at our services and in our schools and is an opportunity to teach the Jewish values of ecology and environmentalism.
Yom HaShoah – Holocaust Memorial Day
Our Men’s Club sends yellow candles for members of the congregation to light in their homes and we are co-sponsors of an annual community event to remember the victims of this searing tragedy. Click here for more information.

Tisha B’Av – Ninth of Av
This day commemorates the destructions of both Temples in Jerusalem and other calamities. At B’nai Israel the reading of Lamentations attracts a wide range of participation; we also offer an early Mincha service that afternoon, complete with reading of Torah and Haftarah.
